NATURIST CAMPS AND BEACHES IN CROATIA

Besides swimming without any clothes on, real naturists appreciate the balance between man and nature, so they prefer to stay outdoors to enjoy sports and healthy food.
Therefore, there are specialized nudist camps particularly popular among the naturists. Naturist camps offer in Croatia is considered to be in the European very top, just behind France and UK.
Currently there are 12 specialized nudist camps in Croatia, of which 6 are in Istria, most popular being Koversada camp near Vrsar.Season peak is in August, when traditional Miss nudism pageant is organized on camp beach.
Besides Koversada, there are more well known camps in Istria, such as: Kanegra near Umag, Valalta at the entrance to the Limski canal, Solaris and Ulika near Poreč, and camp on the peninsula in the village of Funtana.More nudist beaches have been opened in the vicinity of Rovinj, Poreč and Medulin.
Offer is quite rich on the Kvarner islands where most known nudist beaches are Baldarin and Kovačine on island Cres, Vespera on island Lošinj, Kandarola on island Rab ( where the season of skinny dipping was opened in 1936 by British King Edward VIII, who was the first king which abdicated because of love for the Wallis Simpson, American indented citizen).
On island Pag, nudists can find their place under the sun in specialized parts of Šimuni and Straško camps, while in the Zadar region they can enjoy at Punta Skala beach on the peninsula near Petrčane.
Among middle Dalmatian islands offer for nudists leaps out on island Hvar with beach on island Zečevo (where you can get by boat from Jelsa), beaches Jerolim, Stipanska and Mlin near city of Hvar and beach on island Palmižana.
Well-known nudist beaches near Makarska are Vrulja (in between Pisak and Brela), Dračevac in between Tučepi and Podgora and the part of Sveti Petar beach on peninsula within the city of Makarska. Most famous beach in Makarska region is Nugal which is situated in proximity of the town.
Naturist paradise is a small island Proizd near city if Vela Luka on west side of island of Korčula.
Dubrovnik region, besides well known naturist beaches in Lapad (in the area of Babin Kuk) and on island Lokrum (just in front of the Old town), hosts many beautiful naturist destinations on nearby Elafiti islands, such as Šunj beach on island Lopud, beach near Donje Čelo on northern part of island Koločep, and beach in Župa Dubrovačka between Plat and Mlini.
All along the Croatian coast there are a lot of places which are not officially nudist, but it is well known that these are usually used only by naturists. Despite the tolerance Croatian National Tourist Board advises tourists-naturists to avoid being the first naturists on unknown beach, especially if it is situated nearby a town or a village.
In Croatia there is no law which exactly defines what is nudist beach and what are the boundaries of those beaches, so it is not rare to see dressed and naturists on the same beach.

NUDIST CAMPS IN CROATIA

Umag
Kanegra - naturist camping and beach   
The camp is situated in the prettiest gulf of the west Istrian coast. This camp offers the real return to the nature. It is 10 km away from historical center of the city of Umag, with which is it very well connected by the road and by the promenade by the sea. Camping Kanegra is right next to the sea, its immersed in the Mediterranean vegetation and, it is surrounded by the beautiful gravelly beach.

Ulika - naturism center   
The camp is situated 8 km north of Poreč, it is sorrounded by the Mediterranean vegetation and with the blue sea. It is possible to rent mobile houses (caravans) here. Since the year 2000. camp Ulika has a “Blue Flag” – international certificate for the protection of the nature.
POREČ
Solaris - naturism center   
The camp is situated on the area of 49 ha, it has a capacity of 4000 guests, 8 tennis grounds, 2.5 km of the beaches, animation program for the children, free internet on the reception and open swimming pool.
FUNTANA
Istra Naturist - naturist camping   
The camp is situated on the area of 37 ha, it has a capacity of 3000 guests, 1 km of the beaches, 4 tennis grounds, sport programs, children animation, restaurants, stores, etc.
VRSAR
Koversada - naturist center - camping   
This camp is situated south of Vrsar, on the entrance to the gulf of Lim. It has a capacity of 5000 guests. Camping spots have electricity and water. It has a sports grounds: 8 tennis grounds, table tennis, basketball, indoor soccer, kayaking, beach volley. Morning and daily programs of sports animation, daily and evening programs for all generations: fish and national restaurants, pizzerias, grill, etc.
ROVINJ
Valalta - naturist center   
Valalta is the only camp that has a marina. Sport activities in Valalta center are: tennis, beach volley swimming school, you can rent a bicycle, boats, kayaks. Professional team is involved in those sport activities, especially in activities for the children. It has many restaurants, 5 km of coastline, 3.5 km of beaches.
