The term 'fitness' may mean very different things.
Physical fitness is a good general state of health as a result of exercise and proper nutrition.
Cardiorespiratory fitness is the ability of vascular and respiratory system to supplie the muscles with oxygen.
Appropriate training can increase your heart muscles, the amount of blood that each pump pulse and
increase the number of small arteries in the muscles.

The term 'fitness' with an entirely different meaning is used in biology and mathematics.
Physical fitness can be divided into:
- a general fitness - General condition of health and well-being
- the specific fitness - the ability to carry out tasks that certain types of sports or hobbies impose.
Earlier, the term 'physical fitness' meant the ability to conduct daily activities without feeling fatigued.
Meaning is broadened because of changes that the industrial revolution brought and
increasing amounts of free time. Today, the term 'physical fitness' means an individual
ability to function properly at work and extracurricular activities, avoid injury and resolve crisis situations.
In today's world the definition is expanding by many sources on mental fitness and emotional fitness
as an integral element of good health. You may be physically healthy, but if you have mental
or emotional problems, your physical abilities are dropping, that is, the tendency to diseases increases.
Ideal situation is a balance between physical, mental and emotional fitness.
Physical fitness includes: cardiovascular fitness, flexibility training, strength training,
endurance training, body building and general practice. For individual sports, there is a special fitness regime.
Completely different kind of readiness is required for the athlete on the short
tracks or maraton man, players, swimmers, etc.
For people who want to be in solid physical fitness every sport that they like is good.
For older people it is sufficient to walk several times a week.
For everyone swimming is the sport which improves the physical, and emotional fitness.
People who do not like the train today have at their disposal a number of fitness and aerobics,
pilates, yoga clubs, gym, etc., in which the exercise a few times a week can maintain physical fitness.
