BEACH SOCCER


Beach soccer(Beasal) or Beach football is a kind of football that is played on sand. The first rules of beach soccer were brought in 1992. Beach Soccer Worldwide, a company that is responsible for the development of beach soccer, as well as the bigger competitions.
Because of relatively small fields (28x37 meters), beach soccer is very attractive, beacause players can score goals from almost every position, and therefore average in the game is about 60 shots on goal, period between two goals scored is 3 -4 minutes average, and the matches reach around 11 goals. Beach soccer was first played in Brazil, on the beach Leme in Rio de Janeiro. Due to the participation of numerous football stars, such as Éric Cantona, Michel, Julio Salinas and Brazil Romario, Junior and Zico, the popularity of beach soccer is growing rapidly, and already around 170 countries worldwide broadcast the game. In 1992. the first rules were made, and next year on the beach in Miami the first tournament was held, where United States, Italy, Brazil and Argentina played.
In 1995. on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro, the first world championship in beach soccer was played, and the first winner became the host of Brazil. In 2005. Fifa takes over the organization of the world championship in beach soccer.
Each team on the field has five players (four in the field and goalkeeper), and is entitled to an unlimited number of changes (3-5 reserve players). This game is played three times for 12 minutes. If the end result is unresolved, AET is played for 3 minutes, and if after that there is no winner, there is a penalty shootout.
There are two referees in beach soccer. Every foul in beach soccer means a free kick towards the rival goal by the player who was fouled(except for playing with the hand). The referee may grant the player the blue card, after which the player must leave the court for two minutes and his team must play with a player less. Side throwins are performed by hand or foot, while the goal-keeper throws the ball by hand. In beach soccer footwear is not allowed.
In international competitions, the field is composed exclusively of sand, from which they removed pebbles, shells and other things that could hurt players.

* Width of the field : 26-28 meters
Penalty area is in the area from goal to 9 meters, and is marked with a yellow flag on the edge of the field.
In Croatia, beach soccer is still in the beginning and Croatia still does not have a section of beach soccer in HNS, but this is slowly changing. Tournaments are organized throughout Croatia (Crikvenica, Krk, Omiš, Zadar) and leaders of HNS visit the tournaments showing how much they want to established a section of beach soccer.
