AEROBIC IN CROATIA
Aerobic is an adjective that means "requiring air", where "air" usually means oxygen.
Aerobic exercise refers to exercise that involves or improves oxygen consumption by the body,
or improves the performance of the cardiovascular system.
Aerobic dates from 1968 when the U.S. air forces performed research why people
with an excellent muscle tone keep failing on tests of endurance such as running in the long run.
They began measuring sustained performance in terms of a person's ability to use oxygen.
Kenneth H. Cooper and Pauline Potts, based on that research published a book 'Aerobics'
which became a bestseller - release of the book coincided with increasing weakness and
inactivity of the american population and the need for it to be replaced.
The book provides a program of exercises that relate to running, walking, swimming and cycling.
The book became the foundation from which various types of modern aerobics developed.
As todays people are increasingly sitting at work, in front of a TV or PC, a whole industry of
different ways of group aerobic exercise has been launched.
In early 1980s famous actress Jane Fonda made aerobic very popular.
Because ordinary people do not like the exhausting exercise, aerobics is
usually accompanied by music with the lead of an aerobics instructor.
Aerobics is a type of training that combines rhythmically aerobic exercise with stretching and strength exercises.
The target of aerobics is to increase the strength, elasticity and cardiovascular capacity of the organism.
Aerobics courses, which are usually held in the gym and fitness centers,
are divided according to intensity of training and ability of participants to handle
the intensity of aerobics.
So, aerobics is not a certain type of exercise, but includes all the aerobic types
of exercises that increase the ability of the cardiovascular system.
Aerobic exercises are used often as a way of removing kilograms.

AEROBIC TYPES
Sport aerobics
Sports aerobics - the official name 'Aerobic gymnastics' - is the ability to perform
continuously complex and high intensity movement patterns to music with a high degree
of perfectly executed elements of difficulty. The elements of aerobics, sports, and rhythmic
gymnastics are combined with music, dance and choreography.
Aerobics as a sport has national, international and world championships, but it is not an Olympic sport.
There are competitions of individuals, pairs and mixed pairs, as well as threes.
Step aerobics
As its name says, step aerobics is conducted with the help of the moving strip
on which the movements are performed by walking or running in different ways.
The intensity of resistance and speed of tape can be regulated.
Freestyle aerobics
Freestyle aerobics are usually performed on courses where the instructor
teaches the various dance moves with music. During the classes,
which usually last 60 minutes, strength exercises to strengthen muscles are
combined with the stretching exercises to improve flexibility of muscles.
This involves the use of aerobic step or small weights.
Freestyle aerobics movements are often very similar to sports aerobics.
When you learn the movements you can do freestyle aerobics alone.
Water aerobics
Water-aerobics combines different techniques of aerobics on the ground,
such as walking, running, jumping.
Benefit of aerobics in the water is much reduced risk of injury to muscles, bones and ligaments.
Disadvanteges of such aerobics is that it requires a swimming pool, so the classes may cost extra,
the performance of the movement is much slower due to resistance of water,
expends more energy for the same movements.
Yoga postures – asana
Yoga postures are combined with breathing techniques, designed to
increase flexibility and vitality of the body, and are more than 5000 years old.
Yoga in the West has no elements of spirituality and meditation as in the hinduism,
but is becoming increasingly popular as a purely physical exercise or relaxation
technique from the accelerated pace of life.
Yoga positions or exercises do not require high energy consumption, and are performed
slowly combined with different ways of breathing.
Yoga positions stimulate circulation with stopping and running the blood flow tehniques,
and in theory, various positions help with various diseases.
