CAMPS IN CROATIA

There are people who can not imagine themselves lying in a small tent divided just few centimeters of hard earth, but there are also a lot of people who consider camping to be the best way of vacation. You can camp in your own camp, you can just build a tent on the first place which you like by the shore or a river and from where no one will whip you off.
But, it is the best to camp in fixed camps, especially in camps of higher category which have many sports and entertainment contents. All those who do not have their own summer house and can not afford a hotel, can enjoy in one of the many camps in Croatia.
If you are able to pay for a camping trailer, you don't have to crumple in a tent.
What can you expect in camps?
In larger and more equipped camps there is almost everything what you can imagine: hot showers, washing machines, connections for satellite TV, free internet access, children's playgrounds, sports fields of all kinds, restaurants, pizzerias, cafes, shops, kiosks, animation for children, evening entertainment, adventure park ...
In these camps you do not have any problem to find interesting way to spend time, you are always near the sea (especially if you book your camping site on time), you can engage in various sports, meet other people, or you can simply laze in the sun or in the shade.
In Croatia there are 226 bigger camps and another 280 camps in households with a total of about 224000 camping pitches.
6 Croatian camps have received special awards by Italian campers in the categories of "Affinities and Ecology" and "Sympathies and Quality".
Readers of journal "Il Campeggio italiano" (Italian camper), which is issued by Italian association of campers, appraised Croatian camps. 1170 Italian campers were included in survey.
According to their ratings, the first prize in the category "Affinities and Ecology" got a camp "Bor" from island Krk, second prize got camp "Bijar" from Osor, and third prize went to camp "Nevio" from Orebić'.
"Park Umag" won the prize in category "Sympathies and Quality", second was "Park Soline" from Biograd na moru, and third was camp "Šimuni" from Kolan.
At the same time camp " Zaton Holiday Village" was awarded as one of the best European camps.
Superplatz 2009. - highest recognition of German ADAC recently was given to camp in Zaton and "Park" from Umag. These camps were included among the 75 best European camps.
However, the problem is that only 50% of Croatian camps might be considered as higher quality ones. These camps will always be filled unlike camping pitches in which there are no investments.
On Croatian coast there are also quality camps and beaches for nudists.
